Back to School!

Hey Powerettes!

Excited about going back to school this month? Whether you’re moving to a new school, or simply moving up a year, starting a new school year can be exciting, fun and scary- all at the same time. Getting used to new teachers, friends, even new shoes can all take time! Its important to know that as scared and nervous as you feel, everyone else probably feels the same way!

Even some of your fave celebs didn’t always have the easiest time at school. Take for instance singing sensation Demi Lovato, who struggled to fit in.

“There were girls I dealt with at my school who I thought were my best friends, who just turned on me and that made it really hard,” says Demi. But Demi didn’t let bullies get in the way of her dream. Music and guitar became her therapy: “I just had a lot of fun and focused on music and acting more!”

Even super spunk Zac Efron wasn’t Mr Popular in high school. “I was never the cool kid in high school,” says Zac. “I was the nerd. I spent way too much time worrying about what girls thought of me.” Zac dealt with bullies by recognising their jealousy. “When people want to bring you down it’s because you have something that they admire,” Zac says.

Ashley Tisdale may have played school drama queen Sharpay, but she confesses to being the complete opposite in high school. “I came out to LA in eighth grade so the girls in my high school had all grown up together,” says Ash. “It was really hard. I didn’t really know anybody. I was just the new girl who was quiet.” Ash dealt with her insecurity by mingling with everybody and concentrating on her career and schoolwork.

Don’t forget that school can be tonnes of fun and important! Each of these celebs went on to have awesome careers, which they couldn’t have done without great drama and music teachers and lessons.

So Powerettes, we’d like to know, what’s your advice when to beating the school blues?

my year in grade five was not good. i was still in the same school, but when the boys teased me, i felt like i didn’t belong or that i should be in a different class. at least 3 times a month i would be teased by the same people. i’d cry all the time and the teachers wouldn’t do any thing. and also on my birthday on day for Daniel when we were walking around the oval the started to tease me. i am sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo grateful of the friends i have. they walked with me and kept shouting to the boys: SHUT UP, GO AWAY, LEAVE TAHLIE ALONE and things like that. my only non-getting teased time was lunch time.
