We’re getting so excited because the wait is almost over for one of the best flicks of the year… Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam!!! All your faves are back for this SUPER sequel, which airs this Saturday from 6:30 on the Disney Channel!
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to have a real life final jam??? Well 10 lucky (and totally talented) kids from Australia and New Zealand got to do just that! As part of Disney’s My Camp Rock 2, two teams – Team Treble and Team Bass, faced off in the ultimate musical battle. Now it’s up to YOU to decide who wins the final jam!
You can check out the videos and vote, by clicking here or visit www.disney.com.au for more info! But hurry, voting closes tomorrow!
We caught up with Liz, who was part of Team Bass, and asked her ALL about what it was like to be a part of this mega musical competition!
What was the moment like when you found out you’d been chosen for My Camp Rock 2?
When I found out that I was chosen as one of the 10 finalists, it was on Skype. They were actually a day late when they told me, so I almost gave up hope, until they called us the next day. I was really excited that I rushed home from school as soon as possible, and waited for mum to logged into her Skype account. Once they told me, I was screaming and jumping for joy, like a kangaroo gone crazy and started to cry, because I thought that the 10 finalists were already chosen. It was the happiest day of my life.
Tell us a bit about what My Camp Rock 2 involved?
My Camp Rock 2 involves many things. Of course, the final jam competition, which, in result, makes us participate in professional training when it comes to dancing and singing. I know that I took in everything that they said, as it would come in handy not only for the competition, but for the rest of my singing career. It also involves your cooperation, coordination and the ability to ‘put things up a new level’. And most importantly, you need to make sure that you put your whole heart when doing this competition. You need to give all of your energy and effort in every single move and note you do.
Have you made friends with the other contestants?
Yes, I’ve made friends with all of the camp rock contestants. At first, I was scared to meet them because I’d thought they’d be the kind where they are hard core focused, and they won’t be sociable. But, they turned out to be the complete opposite. They make you feel like you’re at home, and they welcome you like a family. It took us only about one hour to make us feel comfortable with each other. Out of my whole life, they’re probably the friends that I’ve always wanted. Being able to jam with them, laugh and dance happily with them, they’re just the friends that I will definitely keep forever in my heart, and I’d never forget.
Did you have any embarrassing slip ups while you were rehearsing?
When I was rehearsing, I did have some embarrassing slip ups. For example, on the very beginning of the dance, I was required to do a back flip of some sort, and I’ve tried so many times, but I always seem to fall into my head. All I know is that, I’m not flexible. There are so many more, but the more I tried, the more it looked like a piece of cake.
Were you happy with the final performance?
For me, I was EXTREMELY happy with the result of the final performance. Everyone gave 110% energy, and we all had fun and the crowd roared and cheered, and I was just so proud of my team and me, because that was probably the first time I put so much effort into a performance.
Have you always been confident on stage?
I must say that I’m never that confident on stage. In fact, I get so nervous at first, I tend to vomit. But, once I’m on the stage, the nerves come, but after a while, all the nerves seem to drop and I feel confident and full of joy.
If you got to pick a song to have a “final jam” to, what would it be?
If I was able to pick a song to have a ‘final jam’ to, it would be Pyramid, by Charice featuring Iyaz because after the rehearsals, my team would go to the Camp Rock Mansion and just jam with different songs, and the songs that we would sing the most and play on piano and do harmonies to is that song, Pyramid.
Tune in for the results before the Camp Rock 2 premiere, this Saturday on the Disney Channel!!!
We can’t wait!
Lotsa Love,
The GP Team xx
