Newsflash! Miley and Liam Split!

Oh no! It looks like super cute sweethearts Miley and Liam have broken up! Sob! The pair met on the set of uber-dramatic flick The Last Song and totally fell for each other. “The last thing I was expecting to do was to fall in love!” she revealed to fans at the time.

They became one of the coolest couples in Hollywood and Miley even came to visit him in Australia! “He has become my best friend in the whole wide world. I love him,” she said. “He really respects me for who I am because coming from Australia, he really didn’t know me as the celebrity I am here.”

Sadly Liam’s reps have confirmed they are no longer together… maybe because they are both such busy bees! Miley’s signed up for loads of new flicks, PLUS she’s promoting her album and finishing up super series Hannah Montana. Meanwhile Liam’s starting production on epic flick Arabian Nights and settling into Hollywood life…

We hope they aren’t both too teary about the break up! What do you think girls? Are you sad to see them split? We thought they were a cute couple…

Teenage Dream!

Heya girls!

So here’s some hilarious breaking news for you… This weekend, kids at a Melbourne high school were rocking out at their school formal, when the night took a pop-tastic turn!

Miss Katy Perry happened to be at the hotel where the formal was being held, so she decided to surprise the kids by making a star appearance. She wandered into the centre of the dance floor and took the microphone for an impromptu performance… Katy started to rock out to Beyoncé, but the DJ switched the track to her new hit single, “California Gurls“. She hung around to take a few pics, before continuing on her way!

Also with her was celeb DJ Ruby Rose! What a cool combo! Katy even tweeted about it after, writing “I totes just crashed a prom!” Tee hee! It’s a teenage dream indeed…

It got me thinking… which celeb would you MOST like to crash your next party?

Kristen and Taylor come to Oz!

Hey Girl Powerettes!

Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner have  touched down in Australia! Yippee! Tonight, some super lucky Twilight fans will get to grill the pair about the latest flick in the series, Eclipse, at an event at Luna Park.

Taylor and Kristen have been busy bees this weekend. Despite the rainy weather, they’ve already taken a jet boat ride around Sydney harbour, visited Bondi beach and seen some cute Koalas and snappy crocodiles at Featherdale Wildlife park. 

So girls, do you have any travel tips for Taylor and Kristen?  What top spots should they visit while they are in Oz? I think a little visit to Girl Power HQ would be very nice… tee hee!

Newsflash! Joe and Demi Split!

It’s official… Joe Jonas and Demi Lovato have broken up! There was soooo much gossip about the pair’s future, but Demi took to Twitter just a few hours ago to set the record straight.

“There are so many crazy rumors flying around today,” she wrote. “I’d like to clear a few things up. First, Joe and I did split but it wasn’t over the phone. Things didn’t work out but we’ll remain friends. Secondly, I am NOT dating anybody already. Nothing is more important to me than the relationship I have with my fans. Just thought you guys should know this.”

Joe also released a statement saying that while they remained friends, it was his choice to break up. Wow. Way harsh Joe!

We’re flat out finding out ALL the goss on Joe and Demi. So stay tuned for the juice on Jemi in upcoming issues of Girl Power!

Happy Birthday Rob!

Hip hip hooray! Rob Pattinson celebrated his 24th birthday yesterday! 

He got a pretty cool present too… a nomination in the best male performance category for the 2010 MTV movie awards! Yay! Congrats Rob!

It seems that it is Rob who is offering up all the birthday surprises though! He visited the houses of three groups of fans to invite them to a taping of a Twilight special on the Oprah show. They were super shocked and some of them couldn’t even speak! One of the girls was celebrating her birthday too… what a PERFECT present!

After visiting one family of fans he said, “That was nice. I kind of wanted to stay there and have dinner!” Woweee! That got me wondering… What would you serve to R-Pattz if he just rocked up for dinner?

Fashion Week Fun!

It’s Australian Fashion Week! This means masses of fabulous frocks and a whole lot of fun. We think there are some rather odd creations that creep onto the catwalk too…

In honour of fashion week, here’s five of our fave fashionistas:

1. Aussie Cate Blanchett is effortlessly stylish and rarely slips up in the style stakes. Her best accessory is probably her skin – she is always glowing!

2. Anne Hathaway finds a nice balance between striking and sweet. She picks pieces that are pretty, unique and always just right for the red carpet.

3. Vanessa Hudgens is a style star for her beautiful bohemian-luxe look. She is a free-spirit but a fashionista too! 

4. Mia Wasikowska is one to watch! This ethereal Aussie isn’t afraid to take a few red-carpet risks but always keeps it beautiful.

5. We can’t not mention Miss Emma Watson. She’s classically cool and oh so cute. Often snapped wearing Chanel and Burberry, her fashion credentials are sky high.

It’s almost Mother’s Day!

Hey Girl Powerettes!

It’s Mother’s Day on Sunday! Yay! We hope you’re planning to pamper the mother figure in your life – whether it be your mum, stepmum or maybe your aunty or grandma.

No need to buy uber-expensive gifts – a nice card or a crafty creation goes a long way in showing your mum how much you heart her. The May issue of GP has a mother’s day special with some great ideas, including the cutest cookie recipe! Don’t forget to check it out, it’s on sale now!

Speaking of cooking, Demi Lovato usually spends mother’s day in the kitchen with her mum Dianna. They like to chat away while they cook up yummy fajitas and salad.

My sis and I think Demi is definitely onto a good thing! We want to give our mum a break though, so we’ll be cooking up a delicious dinner for her while she relaxes. How about you Girl Powerettes? How are you planning to spend Mother’s Day?

Bye Bye Bieber

Baby, baby, baby, woah!

Bieber fever has seriously swamped Sydney!

Yesterday 4000 fans turned up to watch Justin perform at an outdoor concert on the TV show Sunrise. Girls came from all over the country and camped out to see this superstar. Then the crowd got really chaotic so the concert was cancelled!

Luckily Justin performed one song back in the studio because he didn’t want to disappoint his fans… awww. Afterwards he said, “I would love you to stay and hang but you have got to go. The police say you’ve got to go home.”

Sadly, Bieber’s saying bye bye to Sydney today. Don’t worry if you missed out on him this time though, when asked if he’d return to Oz he said, “Yes, for sure I will be back.” Phew! In fact, he even spilled to one fan that he’d be back as soon as November! Let’s hope so…

Lucky for our NZ readers, Justin is set to touch down in Auckland tonight! What’s on his itinerary you ask? He’ll be performing on TV, plus one super lucky school is getting their own private concert! Justin also posted on Twitter that he hopes to meet the All Blacks rugby team. He’s only in NZ for 24 hours though, so we’re not sure if he’ll be able to fit it in!

Guess who didn’t miss out on Justin this weekend… Our lucky duck editor Amy!!! She got to meet him and get all the Justin Juice! You better keep a lookout in our upcoming issues because we will give you all the goss on Mr. Bieber.
