Hey Girl Powerettes!

In case you’ve been living in outer space, Friday was the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards! Here at GP, we were lucky enough to hit up the Orange Carpet so we could get all the latest (and greatest) celeb goss just for you! Tough job, huh?!

Early in the evening, we heard some serious shrieking and saw Aussie singing sensation Cody Simpson making his way up the orange carpet. We may have squealed a little too… OK a lot! We even got to chat to Cody later and ask him ALL about his adventures in LA! Cody’s such a cutie and we were thrilled that he won the award for Fresh Aussie Muso.

GP also chatted to the brilliant boys from Short Stack and got the goss on their new album (yay!!!), plus caught up with Stan Walker who was sporting another funky hairstyle! We got giggling with Rove McManus and nabbed some handy fitness tips from top trainer Michelle Bridges!

There were also some exciting international guests who came to Oz for the awards. We spoke to iCarly’s Jerry Trainor who revealed that he had been playing with GP’s Destiny Dice all week! He got them from our October issue (on sale now!). See… anyone can be a Girl Powerette! The GP team also caught up with Drake Bell, from Drake & Josh, who scored the Big Kid Award later in the evening!

We got a little star struck when speaking to Mr. Liam Hemsworth, who hosted the awards. He’s totes dreamy! GP were also bedazzled by the bright pink bangles and shoes sported by his co-host Jess Mauboy!

After all the action of the orange carpet, we got pepped for the SUPER slimy show! (If you want to get technical, there was a record 6000 kilograms of slime spurting out on the night! Wowsers!) No one could escape from the green stuff – the hosts of Camp Orange, Luke and Wyatt, even hung out in a hot tub of slime backstage!

One of the funniest moments was when Masterchef’s Matt Preston flew through the air dressed as a cherub to present the award for ‘Fave Kiss’ to Liam and Miley in the Last Song! LOL! Speaking of Masterchef, Drake Bell burst out of an enormous croque en bouche to accept his ‘Big Kid’ award from Adam, Callum and the kids from Junior Masterchef. After that they got into an enormous food fight!!! Yummmm!

There were also mega musical performances from Jess Mauboy, Short Stack, Amy Meredith and of course Cody Simpson! He closed the show with the uber-catchy tune ‘iYiYi’ so we were humming it all night… Sneaky plan Cody!
