Girl Power Movie Reviews: Beauty and the Beast!

November 8th, 2010 by Anthea | 11 Comments | Filed in Contribute, Movies

Heya!

Here at GP, we loooooove movies and we have a little inkling that you might too! In fact, this week a team of five FAB movie-loving Girl Powerettes have written in and rated one of our FAVE flicks… Beauty and the Beast!

Bianca, 12: A true Disney classic. This movie taught me not to judge a person by the way they look and to treat people the way you would like to be treated. A magical Disney movie! *5 stars!*

Bianca, 12

Alyssa, 11: Beauty and the Beast is a classic fairytale, which has been brought to life in this fantastic animated film from Disney. The film is about Belle, whose father Maurice becomes a prisoner of the Beast (who is really a prince under a spell), and decides to take his place and then finds the prince within the beast. The movie shows a really important message to its viewers; “you shouldn’t judge people before you get to know them”. The Beast came across as a really mean individual because of his looks, but inside he had a heart of gold. This movie is full of catchy songs which will have you singing along in no time! It is also filled with colour and will appeal to all ages. Definitely the perfect movie to watch all together as a family. In my opinion this is one of the best Disney Princess films.

Alyssa, 11

Naomi, 9: Beauty and the beast is a sad but happy story. And if you are looking for a fairytale full of wonderful music and beautiful romance this is the right movie to see. Beauty is an amazing character; she is intelligent, brave, and friendly. The Beast on the other hand is a little rough, at the end turning out nice. So if you dare step one toe out of line, I can bet you that you the beast will roar at you! So watch out! The furniture is a wonderful help (I mean that all the furniture can talk so they help with all the problems that happen during the movie). The little teacup called Chip is sooo cute and funny!! And of course every fairytale has to end with a kiss!

Naomi, 9

Ashleigh, 12: Beauty and the Beast Diamond Edition is a fabulous new edition of Beauty and the Beast any age will enjoy! It’s a ‘G’ rated movie so any age can enjoy this fab love story about Belle and a Prince who got turned into a Beast. It includes funny scenes, action scenes and the songs are way cool! You’ll want to watch it again and when you do you can put it on sing-along mode so you to can sing along to the songs! Rated 9/10!!!!

Ashleigh, 12

Lara, 10: I love the movie “Beauty and the Beast”! I always used to watch it when I was little, with my big sister who is now 18 years old! My favourite characters are the candle, the clock and the mum and the little teapot and teacups! They’re just all really cute!! Overall, this movie has to be one of my fave movies when I was younger, and I think it will still be my fave when I’m an adult!

Lara, 10

Wowee – weren’t those reviews just fab!!!! You girls are AH-mazing! Betcha you all want to run out and watch this classic flick too! Luckily, The Beauty and the Beast Diamond Edition DVD is out NOW – fresh from the Disney vault. Yippeee!

So get a copy of the DVD, dial up your besties and sit back and relax with a big bowl of popcorn! Sounds like the recipe for a PERFECT afternoon!

Lotsa Love,

The GP Team xx
