Welcome to the another session of the Girl Power Book Club! We love books and reading SO MUCH that we’ve started this cool club that’s dedicated to all things bookish!

You’re welcome to read books with us and write your comments about them, we’ll also have author interviews and book giveaways in coming weeks, so that you can give your bookwormy self a fast fix of books news any time you need it!

This month we’re reading a really stupendous book:

The Chronicles of Narnia:
The Voyage Of The Dawn Treader

What is this book about? Edmund and Lucy Pevensie have already been to the magical land of Narnia, but in this brilliant book, they go back with their annoying cousin Eustace (great name, right?) They join their old friend Prince Caspian on a big journey on the high seas! The gang sail off on a beautiful ship called the Dawn Treader – they’re off to find the seven lords of Narnia who are missing. But danger lurks around every turn, you’ll have to read this top book to find out what happens to our favourite friends…

Who should read this book? Everybody, but especially boys and girls aged 7-12. The Voyage Of The Dawn Treader is action-packed and very exciting, so you’ll want to keep reading even when it’s time to go to bed! Warning – there are more than 200 pages in this book, so it could be a tiny bit tricky if you’re not a strong reader yet. Maybe ask Mum or Dad or your big sister to read this one with you!

Tell me about the author! C.S. Lewis was born in Ireland in 1898. The “C.S.” in his name stands for Clive Staples. C.S. wrote lots of books and won many awards, but he is most famous for his Narnia series which includes another fabulous book  The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe. Sadly C.S. died in 1963, but his memory lives on in his many amazing books. You can find out more info about C.S. by clicking here.

How do I find out more about this book?  Well, there’s a cool movie version of The Voyage Of The Dawn Treader and it’s landing soon on DVD. It’s a total must-see if you love movies packed with action and adventure, and little mice with swords. Yep, you read that right. Reepicheep is one of the cutest book characters in history, and we love watching him on screen. Here’s a cool trailer for you to check out:
